The data displayed measures the quality of stroke care in England against evidence based standards. What does this mean?
The Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP) aims to improve the quality of stroke care by auditing stroke services against evidence based standards, including the National Clinical Guideline for Stroke.
It is important to note that extremely high standards have been set with the aim of stimulating hospitals to identify where improvements are needed and drive change. Nowhere else in the world has set as stringent standards and the results should be read in this context.
The hospitals included on this site are those which have stroke services called routinely admitting teams. A routinely admitting team is a team within a hospital that admits stroke patients directly for acute stroke care.
All results from SSNAP are available at www.strokeaudit.org/results
