Overview

Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust is one of four specialist NHS trusts, providing care exclusively to children and young people. We provide a wide range of general and specialist services to meet the physical and mental health needs of children and young people up to the age of 16. Our services are provided in the community, at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and in other hospitals in South Yorkshire and beyond.

General and specialist services Highly specialised healthcare (neurosurgery, oncology, endocrinology, specialist orthopaedics, neonatal surgery, metabolic disease, gastroenterology, respiratory diseases, intensive care, cystic fibrosis and neurology), Secondary healthcare (Emergency Department services, acute paediatrics, orthopaedics, general surgery and paediatrics, dermatology and diabetic care and Community services (community paediatrics, child development, adoption and fostering support, medical safeguarding advisory and neurodisability services.


Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services General mental healthcare and specialist services, such as forensic services and services for vulnerable children


Children’s and infant transport services Transporting very ill children and infants in the region to the best facility to meet their clinical needs with specially designed ambulances.


Other services Specialist pathology and genetics services, including newborn screening.
