Yeovil Hospital is situated next to the town centre and has good road and rail links. All services are provided on one easily accessible site with a multi-storey car park providing plenty of on-site parking.
We provide acute care for a population of about 185,000 people mostly in South Somerset, North and West Dorset and parts of Mendip. The hospital has 345 beds and a private patients’ wing.
In 2016/17:
- 44,145 people were admitted to our hospital
- 46,453 people attended our emergency department (A&E)
- 43,600 x-rays, MRIs, and other diagnostic tests and scans were carried out
- 1,509 babies were born in our maternity unit.
Continuing to provide high quality clinical care and excellent patient experience remains our top priority. We are proud of our iCARE principles, initially developed by our nursing staff, and which now underpin all that we do within the hospital.

We work closely with GP practices, social care providers and our NHS neighbours to ensure our patients stay as healthy and independent as possible. Our collaboration and partnership working includes Symphony Healthcare Services which provides care to more than 26,000 GP patients, and rehabilitation and reablement at Cooksons Court.
