North East London NHS Foundation Trust logo

NELFT provides an extensive range of integrated community and mental health services for people living in the London boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest and community health services for people living in the south west Essex areas of Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock. We also provide an Emotional Wellbeing Mental Health Service for children and young people across the whole of Essex.

Our users
With an annual budget of £340 million, we provide care and treatment for a population of circa 2.5 million. We employ approximately 6,000 staff.

Our services
The services we provide include a range of specialist mental health services, and community-based health services.

Our services include specialist treatment for people experiencing acute mental illness, help for children and young people with emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties, care for people with dementia, support for people with problems associated with drug and alcohol misuse.

Our community health teams cater for people of all ages from new-born babies to older people. We provide care and support for patients in a range of settings including health centres, community hospitals and their own homes.

We provide support for people living with long term conditions such as diabetes, dental services for people with special needs, speech and language therapy, community nursing and health visiting.
