Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust aims to be a hospital of choice for patients and an employer of choice for staff.

The Trust gained Foundation Trust status in October 2006 and has more than 14,000 members who are patients, members of the public and staff.

We are consistently rated among the highest performing hospitals nationally. We are ranked as one of the best hospitals in England for low mortality rates by the Dr Foster Hospital Guide, our standards of hospital hygiene, food, and privacy and dignity are rated ‘Excellent’ in the Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) annual assessment, and 89% of patients in the Care Quality Commission’s latest annual Inpatient Survey rate their care at Chelsea and Westminster as ‘Excellent’, ‘Very good’ or ‘Good’.

The Trust provides specialist services including HIV and Sexual Health, Burns, Paediatrics, high risk Obstetrics and Neonatal Care for patients from London, the South East and further afield, a full range of general medical and surgical services for the local community, and an increasing number of services in community settings.

Most services are provided on the main Chelsea and Westminster Hospital site but HIV and Sexual Health services are based in three other centres—St Stephen’s Centre adjacent to the hospital, 56 Dean Street in Soho, and West London Centre for Sexual Health at Charing Cross Hospital.

We also provide an increasing number of services in the community—for example, dermatology and gynaecology.

We have been recognised independently as an employer of choice—named Best Employer for Carers and also ranked among the top 30 employers for working families in the UK in the Top Employers for Working Families Awards 2011, and named as finalists in the 'Website' and ‘Internal Communications’ categories of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards 2012.
