We provide world class specialist services in cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, respiratory medicine including adult cystic fibrosis and diagnoistic imaging, both in the hospital and out in the community.
We serve a catchment area of 2.8million people spanning Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man, and increasingly receive referrals from outside these areas for highly specialised services such as aortics.
Our community based services, where we offer diagnostic clinics and tests to patients in their local GP practice or Community Health Centre, are now available in GPs across Knowsley for the care of Cardiovascular Disease and COPD and also across Liverpool for Spirometry testing.
Each year we carry out approx. 80,000 outpatient appointments and 13,000 inpatient procedures, as well as another 30,000 community outpatient appointments.
