Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a wide range of specialist acute services, including a regional cancer centre, from its two large general hospitals, Gloucestershire Royal and Cheltenham General Hospital and also maternity services at Stroud Maternity Hospital. 

Our specialist clinicians see patients in the county's community hospitals including  Stroud, Berkeley Vale, Forest of Dean, Tewkesbury, the North Cotswolds and Cirencester.

The Trust has developed groundbreaking services such as its Mobile Chemotherapy Services, and also provides a national lead in Diabetic Retinal Screening and AAA Screening Services.

NHS trusts are required to publish staffing levels on their inpatient wards.  This is in addition to displaying staffing numbers on boards outside all inpatient ward areas. Our latest staffing numbers are now available to download.

Hard Truths - the journey to putting patients first

‘Hard Truths – the journey to putting patients first’, DoH, January 2014 is the Government’s response to the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry and one of the key actions from their response is to ensure safe staffing and for data about nurse staffing numbers on hospital wards to be was to publish by the end of June 2014 the very latest. A report went to our Trust Board which reviews the safety of staffing, ensuring that appropriate actions are being taken to resolve any potential risks to patient safety which has resulted from gaps in staffing compliments.
